General Terms & Conditions

All bookings at Hotel Bergs Suites (the “hotel”) are made subject to the general terms and conditions set forth below as well as any terms and conditions which are clearly stated in the guest's booking confirmation.

By making a booking and/or staying at the hotel, a guest accepts these terms and conditions and will follow them. If a guest violates the terms and conditions, in addition to assessing additional charges as noted and other rights provided under the law, the hotel may cancel a guest's reservation without a refund and require the guest to leave the hotel premises.

Bookings, room rate & payment. The shown offered room rate already includes VAT and Riga City tourism tax. Guest bookings are confirmed only after the guest receives the booking confirmation sent to the email address provided in the hotel’s booking system. Bookings are confirmed without pre-payment, but, unless payment was made at the time of booking, prepayment of the full room rate is required no later than 72 hours prior to 15:00 on the day of arrival using the payment link sent by the hotel via email after the booking has been confirmed by the hotel unless clearly otherwise noted in the booking confirmation. If the booking is made less than 72 hours prior to arrival, pre-payment via the sent link must be made prior to arrival, unless agreed to otherwise with the hotel. If pre-payment deadlines are missed, the hotel may cancel the booking with or without notice. Please feel free to contact the hotel if there are questions regarding payment methods and terms. 

Special requests and incidentals are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Any unsettled rooms or incidental charges shall be paid no later than at check-out.  The hotel retains the right to charge the card on file for any additional charges due.

Cancellations. Guests may cancel their booking free of charge up to 72 hours prior to 15:00 on the date of arrival and any pre-paid amount shall be refunded unless the guest has chosen a non-refundable rate. Cancellations after this time and no-shows are subject to a fee equal to one full night’s stay for bookings of up to three nights and 50% of the total booking for bookings over three nights (unless agreed to otherwise with the hotel in writing).  Guest modifications to their booking are subject to the same conditions as cancellations unless agreed to otherwise by the hotel in writing. The foregoing terms are not applicable to group bookings of 4 or more rooms, in which case the hotel shall provide the cancellation terms in writing.

Registration & Personal Data. Per Latvian law, guests must complete a registration card upon check-in. Upon check-in, all guests are required to present a valid photo identification and a valid credit card which can be processed by the hotel for any incidental charges. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable EU data laws. The hotel’s privacy policy can be found here  

Check-in & Check-out. Check-in begins at 15:00 (3:00 pm) on the date of arrival. Early check-in is subject to availability. Guests are requested to notify the hotel of planned late check-ins after 22:00 (10:00 pm). Check-out is by noon 12:00 on the date of departure. Late check-out is subject to availability and may be subject to an additional fee.

Overnight guests. All overnight guests must be registered and present a valid ID and, if required by law, complete a registration card. Please note that additional guests may change your room rate.

Child Policy. Subject to room maximum occupancy requirements:

-Children up to 5 years - stay free.

-Children from 6 years to 17 years – an additional charge of 30 EUR per night.

Baby cots and extra beds are available upon request subject to availability and subject to an additional charge. Please confirm availability with reservations prior to arrival.

Minors (children under the age of 18) are not permitted to make bookings. 

Pets. All pets must be registered with the hotel and are subject to additional charges. Only well-behaved and non-dangerous pets are allowed. Pets may not cause noise or other disturbances to other guests. Pets may not be left unattended in the room. 

Smoking. According to Latvian legislation it is prohibited to smoke in all public areas. Smoking, vaping, burning incense is not allowed in rooms or anywhere on the hotel premises. A fine of €200 per incident will be automatically applied per incident in the event of non–compliance.

Open flames & fireplaces. Open flames, including candles, are strictly prohibited. Any fireplaces in rooms are solely for decorative purposes and may not be used. Grilling on balconies is not allowed.

Electrical appliances. Except for appliances provided in rooms and standard personal electronics (phone, computer), the use of other electronic devices which have a high energy consumption are not allowed.

Lights and water. Guests must turn off all lights and water taps when leaving the room.

Kitchenette & cooking. Kettles, stoves, hotplates and microwaves must not be left unattended. Cooking smokey foods must be avoided and, if excess smoke is created, windows opened for additional ventilation. For the comfort of other guests, highly aromatic foods, including fish, may not be prepared.

Disturbances, Dangerous and Illicit activities & Use for other Commercial Purposes. Guests may not cause unreasonable disturbances to other guests. Guests will not undertake activities which dangerous (may cause harm to the guest, others or to property) or are illegal in the Republic of Latvia. Guests will not host parties or events with unregistered guests without the written consent of the hotel. Guests will not use rooms, the hotel premises, images of the hotel or its logo for commercial purposes without the written consent of the hotel.    

Damage or malfunction. Guests must report any damage or malfunctions to the hotel's premises (including the room) or its contents without unreasonable delay prior to checkout. Guests are responsible for damages (replacement cost) beyond reasonable wear and tear caused by themselves, their pets or their guests.

Public spaces. The use of event spaces, wellness areas, fitness areas and other public areas is subject to the rules and instructions for those areas as described by signs or as described in the guest information booklet in each room or as posted otherwise.

Keycards. The charge for lost, damaged or unreturned keycards is €10 per card.

Lost, damaged or stolen items. The hotel is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen personal belongings. Guests must report any incidents to the front desk without delay prior to checkout.

Force Majeure cancellation. If unexpected circumstances or emergency situations arise which affect the hotel’s ability to provide its services at the expected level, the hotel may cancel the booking upon notice to the guest. The hotel will seek, but is not required to, find suitable alternative accommodation. Any paid-for but unused portion of the booking shall be refunded to the guest as soon as possible or within 10 business days. The guest will not claim any further loss compensation from the hotel in these situations.

Applicable law. Bookings and use of the hotel are subjects to the applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia and any disputes related to the booking or services provided by the hotel shall be adjudicated in the Republic of Latvia.
